Our story

PokéFig by PokéShiny Finds — built by collectors, for collectors.

Why it exists

Tracking vintage Pokémon figures was an unsolved headache. There was no single, curated, trustworthy place: knowledge was scattered across dead forums, Japanese blogs, Chinese bootleg guides and collectors’ memories. And nobody mapped the one thing that matters most — that Tomy never made a figure of the whole Pokédex, and which official substitute is the best when Tomy doesn’t exist.

How it was built

PokéFig condenses years of collector research into one place: Japanese auction logs, Chinese authentication guides, pkmncollectors threads, wikis in five languages — cross-checked, cited, and marked confirmed vs uncertain. Hours and hours of searching that a collector would never have time to do, distilled into clean data and an honest “how to spot the original (vs bootleg)” guide on every line.

The grails

Some pieces are the soul of the hobby: the Golden BREAK set (only 5 in the world), the 2005 lottery Gold Magikarp, the shiny legendary beasts. We document them with their real story, their evidence, and how to tell a real one from a fake — including pieces from the PokéShiny Finds collection that exist in no other catalog on the planet.

What’s coming

Your own collection tracker: have, missing and wishlist, with loose/sealed condition — and, for the serious collector, tracking multiple copies of a single piece, your value vs what you invested, price trends, and the ability to trade and sell. Free to track; PRO for the power tools.

Our promise

PokéFig was born because the community had nowhere to track Pokémon figures without spreadsheets or broken tools. We won't repeat the mistakes that burned us:

  • Your collection is yours. Export your backup whenever you want (CSV/JSON). No lock-in.
  • Free stays free. Core tracking —have/missing/wishlist, loose/sealed, search and the full catalog— is free today and will stay free. We don't paywall features after you've come to rely on them.
  • PRO adds, never takes away. Paid features are new extras (unlimited lists, price history, advanced export, insurance report). We'll never take away something that was free just to sell it back to you.
  • No bait. None of that "free until you grow, then pay or lose your data".

An offering to the community

PokéFig is, at heart, a love letter to Pokémon and to the collectors who kept this knowledge alive. It’s a need many people contributed to — with their research, their photos, their grails. We just put it together, honestly, in one place. No inflating, no inventing: credible and complete. That’s the whole point.
