🔍 How to spot the original
- Seam around the body (the #1 tell): The original Ditto has a seam running around the edge of its body (two glued mold halves). Documented Ditto bootlegs LACK it: re-casting a finished figure erases the seam.
- Deep TOMY engraving: The original has a deeply cut, sharply molded TOMY logo. On a fake the engraving loses edge and depth (especially toward the last letters), because detail degrades when the mold is copied.
- Pink shade: A 'slightly off' pink does NOT condemn the piece: the shade varies with age even on originals. Never judge a Ditto by color alone — decide on seam + engraving.
