🔍 How to spot the original
- Molded spots (the #1 tell): On the original, the body spots are outlined in the MOLD (raised contour) and painted inside that outline. Documented fakes: misplaced spots with NO molded outline — paint 'floating' on smooth plastic.
- Seam & lettering: Fakes in the Nido line are reported with an incorrect seam and with the ©Nintendo/TOMY marks RAISED (sticking out) instead of engraved inward. Raised lettering on a Nidorino = red flag.
- Kanto's most faked: 'Good luck' rarity (impossible tier) with a 'too many bootlegs' note in the community guide — and fakes DO carry a Tomy stamp. Never buy on a single sign or a stock photo.
