PokéShiny Finds
Pokémon Figure Collection (US)
“Great Trainers Need Great Pokémon!” — Tomy's US line that no one had ever catalogued in full. PokéFig publishes it first.
The Pokémon Figure Collection is The Pokémon Company International's English-language release of Takara Tomy's Monster Collection (MonColle) — the ~5 cm figures sold at Pokémon Center in Japan. Between 2010 and 2012, TPCi re-boxed them in a blister (©2012) with a 17-language back and sold them across the US, Latin America (Argentina, Mexico) and Europe. It's a short, scattered, poorly-documented line: other public sources list only 44, flagged as an "incomplete" roster. A complete public list never existed — until now: PokéFig documents 57 figures with 38 UPC barcodes verified one by one.
How the line is structured
The box color tells you the generation.
How to tell it apart
This one. TPCi B/W-box re-release, 2010-2012. Item 703-04XXX, UPC prefix 820650.
Tomy's original Japanese line. Japanese box and spine.
The FIRST of the family: ©2001 red card, dex 1-251 (PokéFig has all 251). Not a box — a card.
Watch the nickname: this 2012 B/W box is sometimes called “PCNY”, but the Pokémon Center New York physical store closed in January 2005. The American dex 1-251 line is a DIFFERENT one: the ©2001 red card, which Pokémon USA also sold as singles on pokemoncenter.com (2005-2006) and which reached mass retail. Tell them apart by the barcode: the red card carries a Tomy JAN (4904810), this 2012 one carries item 703-04XXX + UPC 820650. That’s the criterion, not the “PCNY” nickname.
The PokéFig difference
- 1The most complete public roster there is (57 vs the 44 documented before).
- 238 UPC barcodes verified one by one — previously unpublished; not even barcode databases have them.
- 3International coverage: documents the LatAm (Argentina/Mexico) distribution no one else tracks.
- 4Path to 100%: eBay catalog sweep (epid→UPC) + box-back vision + FB-group crowdsourcing.
Own verification: eBay catalog (Product Identifiers/UPC), MercadoLibre AR, FB-group blister photos, cross-checked against specialist wikis (CC BY-NC-SA images where applicable). Price = dated estimated reference, not investment advice.
