RED GYARADOS (色違い / “Akai Gyarados”) — factory red recolor of the classic Gyarados mold, on its blue wave base. ✏️ CORRECTION (Jul 2026): this entry used to say «HG/SS-era lottery — paired with Shiny Magikarp». What's documented is different: MyFigureCollection (item 412903) catalogs it as Monster Collection DP «Shiny ver., Akai Gyarados» — JANUARY 2010, a campaign gift for BUYING 5 MonColle figures (not a lottery), 38mm, barcode 4904810372189. It is peak HG/SS era (the Lake of Rage red Gyarados), but NO gold Magikarp MonColle figure exists as this campaign's pair: the gold+red pair people remember is the Pokémon Center PLUSH duo (Dec 2009). The only gold MonColle Magikarp is the 2005 grail (grial-gold-magikarp).
